Publication Output with Citation based Performance of Selected DBT Institutes in India

This scientometric study examines the publication outputs from six institutes of Department Biotechnology (DBT) in India as cited Scopus database over past 24 years, 1996-2019. Research biotechnology and other allied areas were analysed terms their chronological growth, activity index, collaborations, preferred journals for publication, country collaborators, popular keywords scholarly impact. Scientists published 6, 076 journal articles representing 73.65 per cent nationally collaborated 25.03 internationally articles. Of DBT institutes, National Institute Immunology (NII) highest number Life Sciences (ILS) shared most patents. Publication frequency was Plos One countries with which scientists included United States, Germany, Kingdom France that order. The publishing suggest a need greater international collaborative research order to gain scientific competency increase quality outputs. Also this may be helpful government officials policy makers determining allocation resources boost institutes.
